So life got a little interesting last fall. I got married, became a dog dad, and landed a new job all in the course of a few months. Now that the whirlwind is dying down, I have time to actually start building again.

I’m currently in the middle of 2 active builds. The Banshee and Build MKII are on hold, currently, but there are a few others I’ve been pretty stoked about.

Kit #1: HGUC GM Cardigan Custom GB Group Build
I joined a Facebook Gundam community that is having a custom GM contest. I usually do not work in HGUC because I do not do well with small pieces. However, I also really enjoyed the GM Cardigan from Gundam Build Fighters Try, so I decided to give this a shot.

So far I’ve used most of the Cardigans parts, but I’d also taken the arms from a GP02 and the legs from a Hazel to make a beefier machine. The GP02 arms have polycaps on the shoulders which allow for even more armatures. So I grabbed a set of Gundam Battle Arms to make this kit even more ridiculous and channeling the whole Thunderbolt Gundam aesthetic.

Currently, I am waiting for the primer to dry and planning the color scheme. I’m pretty torn but excited all at once.

Kit #2: HGUC Grimoire
I’ve been catching up onb Reconguista in G and so far my favorite suit has been the Grimoire. Its such a fresh and interesting concept and I want a MG version so bad. In the meantime, though, I want to paint it like a Sumo from Turn A. I’m a huge fan of metallic paint to begin with and this design is so much fun. I was going to do it all chrome with gunmetal for the yellow parts, but my wife convinced me to try to keep the yellow and see how it comes out.

Anyway, it feels good to be back in the Gunpla saddle. Here we go!
